About Yemen Cafe & Restaurant

The business is registered at 1816 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10305; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip. If you were expecting a restaurant, market or cafe and landed on a listing in this group, it usually means the original source listed the business under an unusual or mixed category rather than a plain food label. Contact information, address and hours are still pulled from the same public data used across Staten Island and New York, so they should be accurate even where the category is not a perfect fit. Because this group spans everything from medical clinics to auto shops to gift stores, there is no single etiquette or norm that applies across it; treat each listing on its own terms and call ahead if the category alone does not tell you what you need to know.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9:30 AM–10:30 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (718) 504-4441. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, yemencafe.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 382 reviews, which is a strong result for an other food place in Staten Island and suggests consistent service.

Staten Island is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Staten Island is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

If you want a calm comfortable atmosphere with friendly faces and authentic food, go here! I hadn’t ever went in before, thinking it’s only a coffee shop, only to go in and find out they don’t serve coffee at all but the host/waiter Mohammed brought me a delicious hot tea called Adani that was warming your heart with cardamom spices among others; he refilled my cup with no hesitation; absolute hospitality! The waiter Zak was reading my mind and figured I’d love to try this delicious authentic dish of a slow roasted beef served to me in a steaming bowl right to my table with a huge bread (don’t know the name) just absolutely delicious the slow roasted beef was not spicy on its own but Zak brought out a serving of jalapeΓ±os if I preferred to add. The owner Sidecq happened to be on site and was extremely friendly and personable. I’m so happy I landed on this experience by chance; my day hadn’t started off great so this really cheered me up. I left with so much left over food and the price was no more than $30. My new Yemeni family 🀍✨

Their service is really good; the server keeps checking on you not in a way to bother but to take care of the guest and to make you feel welcome. The food is fresh every time we visit, the bread is always burning hot and everything on the menu tastes so well. We went to get a to go order and they offered us hot soup and bread while we wait. Will definitely recommend to come here100%.

My server Ameen was so kind. I was bringing my friend (her first time at a yemeni restaurant) and she was very pleased with the experience. Staff was very hospitable and polite and we will 100% come again!

First time trying Yemeni food tonight and WOW β€” what an incredible experience! From the warm welcome to the amazing service and flavorful dishes, everything was perfect. πŸ₯Ήβœ¨ We had Baba Ghanoush, Fahsa Chicken β€” and the owner, Ali, even brought us their famous Lamb Haneeth on the house! Fall-off-the-bone tender! 😍 Ended with a dessert called Fatah that reminded me of Yemeni-style bread pudding β€” SO good. If you go, tell Ali Kristina & Andy sent you! πŸ«ΆπŸ½πŸ‡ΎπŸ‡ͺ #YemeniFood #FoodieFinds #MiddleEasternEats #HiddenGems #SupportLocalRestaurants #DateNightVibes #FahsaChicken #LambHaneeth #FoodLove

I’ve been to the two in Brooklyn, but this one is much nicer to actually eat in the restaurant. They have an indoor and an outdoor area to dine in (that was closed off that day since it’s winter.) Staff was super friendly and the food came out quickly and was very hot. They give you complementary Lamb Broth, bread and salad. All delicious! They also have self serve tea which is great do these cold days. Definitely recommend!
